FAQ for Restaurateurs

Q: How to I sign up my restaurant?

A: You go to the Free sign up page and fill out the three pages. The first page is your basic information, the second is more detailed and the third is the optional special dietary needs information. When possible for one line descriptions please use original descriptions.

Q: What if my restaurant is already on the site?

A: Simply use our update your restaurant feature on your listing at the bottom and fill in the missing information.

Q: What if I am an Open Table member?

A: If you are a current Open Table member then you have to make sure that your information on your listing is fully filled out and then if you wish we will add Open Table to your listing. Just send us an email to info@gkmedia.ca and we will add it.

Q: What does it cost to join?

A: Nothing for the free listing, although we hope that you include your special dietary needs information as that is what we believe is the most valuable information for our users. For the deluxe package the price is $300 plus tax for the year.

FAQ for General public

Q: How can we help?

A: Our goal is to change the world one menu at a time. You can assist us by telling restaurants to join our site and to add their special dietary needs information. You can email information about our sites to your favourite restaurant. Another way is to tell your friends about our sites or post our sites on your blog or in My Space or Facebook.

Q: With your new positive/negative feedback system why only post the positive remarks?

A: We have built our site to provide a resource for people with and without special dietary needs. By providing negative comments on the listings it does not add value to the site. We can forward negative comments to the restaurant owners to help them improve their service.

Q: How accurate is your information?

A: We try to provide the most accurate information that we can. If you see a mistake please use our correction system on our listings to help us correct any errors.

Q: Will you ever have a contest or a forum?

A: We at GK Media Inc are working to provide the finest dining guide websites in the world, we are constantly striving to improve and add features that will enhance your experience. In the future you will see various new additions that will keep you coming back to our sites. Recently we have just added a newsletter, SMS text messaging system and restaurant video to iPod. If you have a suggestion of what new features you would like to see please email us at info@gkmedia.ca.

Food Seattle Select Guide: Discovering Cheese

In this edition of the Food Seattle Select Guide we feature Scrumptious Cheese. Cheese has been around for almost four thousand years. Ancient Sumerians followed by the Greeks and Romans were known to have savored cheese. Easy to make, legend has it that cheese was accidentally ‘invented’ by early nomad horsemen when they discovered that the milk in their saddle bags had curdled after a hard day’s ride separating the curd from the whey, leaving behind a gold-mine of food. Easily portable, cheese became a main staple of their diet. Over the centuries cheese making became incorporated into the diet of many cultures the world over.
